In 1996, DSI started to explore building equipment for the rumble strip market. The result was the development of the Snapper Rumble Strip Machine. The first job was in New Jersey in 1997. With engineering improvements the machines capabilities have steadily improved. We can comply with most patterns required by the D.O.T. on concrete or asphalt. These include shoulder, centerline, 18", stop sign, and school crossing rumble strips. We provide the highest production and efficient operation to save you time and money in project management, labor, and traffic control. Rumble stripping consists of cutting wide grooves on concrete or asphalt to the dimensions, spacing, and location as directed by D.O.T. specifications and requirements. The cutting head tips are arranged in a pattern to provide a smooth cut (approximately 1/16" between peaks and valleys). Our latest model can be viewed in a video available here (Currently 1 minute, 47 seconds play time and 29 MB in size so it will take a while to download). Right click the link and save it to a location on your computer where you can find it (The Desktop for Example). A longer version of above video is available here (Currently 4 minutes, 44 seconds play time and 80 MB in size so it will take quite a while to download). Right click the link and save it to a location on your computer where you can find it (The Desktop for Example). The file is in WMV (Windows Media Player) format. If you don't have the player installed you can obtain Windows Media Player here. If you have problems downloading, you may need to increase the Browsing History Disk Space setting of your browser.
